FELLOWSHIP PASTORAL NEWS

* Gary Clark, brother of Gemma Clifton, is very ill in a Dorset hospital. He has developed an infection following an operation and Gemma has asked that we pray for him and for all the family.
* Some of you may remember Rosemary (Rosie) Fissenden who has attended Special Friends over a long period of time. Rosie is very ill at present in Charles Dickens Ward of Maidstone Hospital. Please remember her in your prayers.
* We offer our sympathy to Gwen and Richard Wilding. Gwen’s mother passed away recently. She had been in hospital for over two months following a stroke, and her funeral has already taken place.
* Continue to pray for Derek & Jean Davenport and family following the recent loss of Derek’s mother. Her funeral was on Wednesday last, near Burton-on-Trent.
* Remember also Heather French, as she continues to come to terms with the recent loss of her mum.
* Having had chest pains again, Pat Kearin is waiting to see a specialist once more. Her long awaited hip replacement operation has been postponed for now.
* Please support Maria & Tony Allen in prayer, as Maria’s stay in hospital is proving very tough at present.
* Please continue to pray for: Dorien Briggs, Edith Gooding, Ann Hewett, Gill Fields, Iris Vickery and Stephen Young.

All pastoral matters please give to Pam Fleckney on 01795 471818.

Jean Harris has now moved back to Maidstone from Gillingham.
THANK YOU TO PAM TILLER WHO HAS DONATED THE FLOWERS THIS WEEK.

PERSECUTED CHURCH – Eritrea The Eritrean authorities are rumoured to be planning to press formal charges of treason against several Christian pastors held without charge for the past four years- the penalty for treason is death under this repressive regime where the only churches allowed to worship legally are Orthodox, Catholic and Lutheran ones and all other Christians are considered a threat to state security.
It is also known that 34 believers of a church in Keren were recently arrested; all the adults were taken to a detention centre but their children wereind.
Please pray for the thousands of Christians held without charge in Eritrea's notorious jails and ask God to fill all these prisoners with His peace and hope. Also, for the families of these prisoners of faith.

A DATE FOR YOUR DIARY
The Persecuted Church Focus Group are holding a meeting with a guest speaker on Saturday 13th September 10-12pm in the Small Hall.

ORGAN FUND
A big "thank-you" to all who took part in the Bethany Brass Celebration last weekend, for all those who helped in any way and for all those generous people who attended. It was a very enjoyable evening - the musicians - students from Bethany School, Goudhurst, under the able tuition of Rupert Keeling, were excellent.
The amount raised was a splendid £414.16.
The next event is on the 19th July - the Silent Auction. We still need more items for the auction and would also value help on the day, especially on the refreshment side. Do please let me know if you can help. Lucie Prior tel. 727801.
