SPECIAL FRIENDS

Our "Circle" was formed just over ten years ago as we
became aware of the needs of certain members in our congregation
and wider fellowship, who had learning disabilities.

We meet in our own room on the first Sunday in each month
where chatting over a cup of coffee/tea and biscuits is an important,
"introduction" for the three quarters of an (hour- long) meeting;
these are vital "sharing times".

Then comes worship with a prayer- time, then songs accompanied on a keyboard.
'Leaders' in the group take turns, once a month, to give bible-based teaching,
making sure the vocabulary and 'pace' of speaking is at a helpful level.
We try to make the message really relevant to our daily lives.
Our aim is to show Christ's love and care for these men and women,
who have various special needs and to form genuine friendships with them.
The ages of our friends range from late teens to late middle age, and we average about
twelve friends with as many helpers.
Should you wish to join us, or know anyone who would enjoy our meetings,
please either send an enquiry, by e-mail, '' or contact the church office
via telephone on the following days and times only.
